The Joseon Tongsinsa is a large peace envoy dispatched to Japan during the Joseon Dynasty. In addition to officials bearing the message of the sovereign, Japan requested the dispatch of doctors, painters, and acrobats. The recordings on the Joseon Tongsinsa, which greatly influenced the various industries of Japan, including the arts and culture, were registered as UNESCO Memory of the World in Japan and Korea. On the 15th day of the first lunar month of each year, the Haeundae Full Moon & Spa Festival is held to welcome the marvelous sight of the full moon.
