Darakjae

As soon as the door opens, you will be able to feel the warmth from the sweet and pleasant aroma of jujube tea. Located in Hwamyeong-dong, Buk-gu, Darakjae is designed with traditional elements to make it look and feel like a cozy hanok. Its interior alone took more than a year to build, designed by a hanok expert invited by the owner of the teahouse who wanted to share the beauty of hanok. Every cushion, piece of furniture, and accessory was carefully arranged.

The teahouse offers various types of tea, with over 100 different teas, including traditional teas and also those imported directly from overseas. It is also used as a multicultural space for performances and cultural events as well. A large grand piano in one corner of the room adds to the cultural aura. The fragrant aroma, hot tea, and elegant teaware, coupled with the clear notes of the piano, will make you feel a deep sense of calm and relaxation.

Grenier TEA (Salon de Grenier)

Located in a residential neighborhood in Daeyeon-dong, Nam-gu, Grenier TEA is a charming, calm, and quiet place to enjoy a cup of tea.

The first floor is a teahouse while the second floor is dedicated to tea classes. Both floors have a cozy white interior just like the tearooms in Europe. In addition to tea, it also serves a variety of other tea-inspired beverages to help beginners to get familiar with tea. Each of these subtly flavored drinks is unique in its own way. If you are looking for a more unique tea and beverage experience, Grenier TEA is the place to go.

Basic tea comes with a teapot and a teacup. For an additional 1,000 won, you can upgrade it to the “English Tea Set,” which includes organic pure cane sugar and milk. Desserts include "Sweet Lemon Red Bean Jelly" and "Classic Scone," the latter of which is a delicacy of this teahouse, served with homemade jam made from five different types of berries and cream.

They have a specialty menu for every season, so it's worth visiting the place once a year to savor the season with a cup of tea. For more information about new menu items, please visit the teahouse’s official website.

From Tea

From Tea doesn’t look and feel like any ordinary café or teahouse although it’s located right in the middle of the downtown area. It must be the bamboo garden and glass walls, a combination of which create a calm and cozy atmosphere. It has an Oriental style interior with fine teacups along with other types of tea ware, and decorative objects that make you feel welcome. The second floor, dedicated to tea classes, has a stylish terrace and an eye-catching display of tea-related items.

If you order a house tea, you will be served a cup of black tea with tea ware including a teacup. Taking a moment of break to have a cup of tea with those you love can be a great way to soothe your tired mind and body. Served in an elegant teacup, milk tea is not only rich in flavor, but also appealing to the eye.

From Tea was originally a tea class, but the owner also opened a teahouse after moving to Haeundae. The teahouse makes a point of serving tea in a high-quality cup and distinguishes itself from others by offering tea and food classes where you will see how serious and professional the owner is when it comes to tea and food.

Hoshinoa of Suwolgyeonghwa

Hoshinoa of Suwolgyeonghwa is a teahouse located in Yeonje-gu, Busan. As “hoshi” is the Japanese word for “star,” and “noa” is the Hebrew word for "rest,” its name means "shimmering space of rest.” The neatly arranged tables and the bamboo garden outside the window, especially the stunning drone footage of various Japanese landscapes projected on the window, will make you feel as if you were in Japan.

The teahouse is famous for its refreshingly fruity “Lilong Lilong” to “Matcha Milk” with matcha flavor, both of which can be enjoyed just about everyone. Most of the teas are produced in Korea, Japan, and China. The counter displays a variety of tea leaves so you would know exactly what you are ordering. Japanese desserts based on mochi are also a must-try. In particular, the "chomaemochi," which is tied to a thread, is interesting in that you have to pull both ends of the string to halve the fruit and mochi. The "yakimochi," which comes with a serving of baked mochi and ice cream, is also unforgettably soft and chewy.
