Visit the Myeongji Migratory Bird Observatory, a hidden gem in the Nakdonggang estuary.

This is a prime birding site where around 150 species of migratory birds come to winter every year, offering a chance to witness the changing seasons alongside a variety of bird species.
From the observatory, you can observe migratory birds feeding on the mudflats up close, with spectacular winter displays by mallards, whooper swans, Saunders’s gulls, and other winter migrants.

Telescopes are available free of charge at the viewing platform, allowing you to get a closer look at the migratory birds. Signs along the path feature photos and descriptions of the birds to enrich your birdwatching experience. This spot is also popular with children, offering a chance to learn about migratory birds and aquatic plants up close. Remember to keep a respectful distance, as the birds can be startled if you get too close!

The Myeongji Migratory Bird Observatory is also renowned for its stunning sunset views and attracts crowds on weekends, offering spectacular views of golden mudflats and migratory birds. It connects to the Ocean City Galmatgil Trails, making it a great place for a relaxing stroll.
