Yeongdodaegyo Bridge - Huinnyeoul Culture Village - Taejongdae Park - Korea National Maritime Museum - Gamcheon Culture Village - Songdo Beach - Amisan Observatory - Dadaepo Beach
Yeongdodaegyo Bridge, Korea’s first bascule bridge opened in 1934, used to be one of Busan’s best attractions as the bridge opened its leaf twice a day (to provide clearance for boat traffic). In 1966, it stopped operating, but through repair work, it was reopened in 2013, still attracting many people.
Walking along the coast of Yeongdo Island, you’ll find the Huinnyeoul Culture Village located on a hill. While walking through narrow village alleys like a labyrinth, you’ll feel familiar with the place as this is where Song Gang-ho was waiting for a rice soup restaurant’s landlady in the Korean film The Attorney (2013). With different cafés, photo studios, and other cultural places, it has now become a culture village that continuously attracts tourists.
Yeongdo Island has more attractions waiting for you to discover. The Taejongdae Recreation Area, offering one of the best views of the coast in Busan, is also situated here. Its observatory will charm your heart with a fantastic panoramic view combined with unique rock formation, and the sea, which will vacate your mind of worries.
Another must-visit destination is the Korea National Maritime Museum near the Taejongdae Park. If you have enjoyed Yeongdo Island visually, now it’s time to learn more about the sea. The museum displays experience-oriented exhibits related to the sea. It also provides various interesting experience programs for children.
Upon leaving Yeongdo Island, you’ll find exotic buildings with colorful roofs on the sloping roads of the Gamcheon Culture Village. Through an urban regeneration project, the Gamcheon Culture Village has been transformed and become Busan’s major attraction, attracting one million visitors a year. While going up and down its curvy alleys, you’ll find the village’s most famous attraction, the statues of the Little Prince and the fennec fox.
After passing the mountainside road, you’ll reach Korea’s first municipal beach, Songdo Beach. Recently equipped with the longest trail over the sea in Korea “Cloud Trails” and the overwater cable car, Songdo Beach is enjoying its heyday once again. In particular, the middle of the trail is made of transparent glass, which creates a thrilling atmosphere to the trail.
The Amisan Observatory is known as a beautiful sunset spot in Busan. Located at the mouth of the Nakdonggang River, the observatory offers a splendid landscape combined with red sunset and migratory birds. Inside the observatory displays the materials of geographical and geological features in the estuary of the Nakdonggang River.
Dadaepo Beach is a perfect destination for those who want to enjoy Busan’s beautiful night scenery. The beach is well known for Morundae Peninsula, which was originally an island, and as the sands of the Nakdonggang River were deposited, eventually connected to the land. At night, colorful lights from the musical fountain dazzle on the beach.

6The reborn of Songdo Beach after 100 years
The elderly’s beach destination back in the day is transformed into a hot spot for the youth!
Let’s check out Songdo Beach, the trending hot spot on social media.
Opened in 1913, Songdo Beach is the first beach in Korea. After its golden period in the 1960s and 1970s, the beach became deserted. Those who wished to bring it back to its former beauty joined forces to repair the abandoned beach, making it even more breathtaking than it was in its heyday. With its spotless sandy beach, clear water, cloud trails, and an overwater cable car, Songdo Beach is once again a popular tourist destination receiving over five million visitors per year.
