Spicy glass noodles
Bbibim dangmyeon (spicy glass noodles) can only be found in Busan. Its origin comes from a long time ago when busy market vendors quickly made the noodles to appease their hunger. However, it is now the signature dish of the Bupyeong Kkangtong Market. Unlike jjapchae (stir-fried glass noodles and vegetables) that is made with fried ingredients and seasoning soy sauce, bbibim dangmyeon is made with boiled glass noodles with garnish and red seasoning on the top. It may not look special, but you’ll be fascinated by the taste of mixed, crispy ingredients with spicy seasoning when you eat it. It’s a fun experience you can have only in Busan to sit together on small plastic strolls in the market and wait for the noodles being made right in front of you by vendors.

Fried tofu pocket
Yubu jumeoni (fried tofu pocket), which comes in the shape of a grab bag, is stuffed with glass noodles and vegetables. It looks delicious with the pocket wrapped with water parsley or scallions. Normally, it comes with fish cakes in jeongol (stew). You should try the clear soup first, and then pop the pockets to taste the thick soup mixed with glass noodles and vegetables. This way, you can try two different tastes.
Spicy squid salad and garlic chive pancake
It may feel awkward to eat ojingeo muchim (spicy squid salad) on the street. However, you’ll never forget its taste once you try ojingeo muchim and jeongguji jijim (garlic chive pancake) while standing in the alley of Nampo-dong. The spicy and sour ojingeo muchim and the crispy jeongguji jijim fried on a large iron plate are always a great combination. It is also good to pair them with dumplings fried in oil.
