Gongsu Fishing Village (Gongsu Village) is a tranquil fishing village nestled along the coastline at the far edge of Gijang in Busan. The village offers breathtaking views of the East Sea, where vast open waters crash against dramatic rocky formations. But there’s more that makes Gongsu Village truly special.
Designated as a model fishing village for experiential tourism in 2001, Gongsu Fishing Village offers a variety of hands-on programs that let you do more than simply admire the sea — here, you can experience the spirit of Busan’s ocean with all your senses.

As Gijang is renowned for its seaweed, the coastline comes alive each spring with rows of freshly harvested seaweed and kelp hung out to dry — a unique sight to behold. From February to June, visitors can take part in the Seaweed Drying Experience, where you hand-prepare and dry freshly gathered seaweed and kelp, then take some home as a special souvenir.
It can be a unique experience where you can trace the journey of the commonly enjoyed seaweed and kelp from ocean to table—and be part of the process yourself.

Visitors can also try traditional seine fishing in the waters off Gongsu Fishing Village. A large net is cast in a wide arc along the shoreline, and with teamwork from both ends of the net, it is pulled in through the surf—revealing a lively catch of various fish and seaweed.
