Dense forests, tranquil lakes, and the trail full of phytoncide.
Located in the Busan Children’s Grand Park, Seongjigok Reservoir has long been loved by the local people, with most of them having created memories here that they will cherish forever. The tranquil reservoir area is like an assorted gift set that gives everyone peace of mind.
The forest path to reaching Seongjigok Reservoir is rich with different types of trees such as cedar, hinoki cypress, and fir, and the slope is not that steep, giving you a more pleasant walking experience. This makes the place popular on the weekend, with hikers trying to climb Baegyangsan Mountain and people coming for a walk.
If you go through the Children’s Grand Park and return to your point of origin, you can finish the walk through Seongjigok Reservoir in an hour. Hinoki cypress trees are planted along several spots on the trail, giving a gentle scent that clears the mind. They emit a natural chemical called phytoncide, which gives you the feeling of forest bathing. Breathing in the air full of phytoncide not only relieves stress but also enhances intestinal and cardiopulmonary function with its additional detox effect, giving you a refreshing feeling.
Walking around the reservoir, you can hear the clear sound of water flowing down the bank. As you walk around the trail, enjoy the scenery of the tranquil lake while having the water sound as music, and pick out one of the many cozy and spacious spots. Let’s sit on one spot to appreciate the calm lake, which is a source of stability and healing. The birds flying over the lake and the surrounding reflections on the water surface create great picturesque scenery.

Strolling on the trail while appreciating the landscape, you’ll soon arrive at the Children’s Grand Park, which is a rotation point of the reservoir. This place is designed for children and their families. On ordinary days, it’s a playground for children, but from July to August, it’s operated as a water park. During this period, children can play in various play zones such as those themed with rockets, lighthouses, fish, and photos. The zones and outdoor shower booths are open for free. In addition, in a nearby area, there’s a place for a folk game experience, which makes the kiddies visit even more valuable and educational. Hence, it’s common to see many parents and children holding hands and walking around in this park.
