The recordings on the Joseon Tongsinsa, which greatly influenced the various industries of Japan, including the arts and culture, were registered as UNESCO Memory of the World in Japan and Korea. On the 15th day of the first lunar month of each year, the Haeundae Full Moon & Spa Festival is held to welcome the marvelous sight of the full moon.
At the start of the street parade, the festival’s atmosphere is heightened with the viewing of a celebratory performance of traditional Korean song and dance.
The Bonfire Festival, which is the highlight of the event, begins when the full moon is about to rise. On the other hand, the Moon House is filled with notes containing people’s wishes for the new year. After a boisterous countdown by everyone present, the Moon House is set on fire with the traditional farmers’ music band adding to the gaiety of the occasion. As you watch the Moon House blazing with fire, you can hold your hands together and make a wish.
