The Westin Josun Busan sits between the western end of Haeundae Beach and Dongbaekseom Island. Even in Haeundae, where high-rise buildings line the skyline, its long-standing exterior felt calm and stately. In front of the hotel is the white sand beach and the vast sea, while the greenery of Dongbaekseom Island stretches out on the other side. With the sea just a short walk from the hotel, it was ideal for both family trips and relaxing staycations.

A Lively First Floor Filled with International Travelers

The first-floor lobby blended warm lighting with a classic interior. International guests were lined up at the check-in counter, and luggage carts constantly moved in and out. Seeing travelers from around the world made Haeundae’s popularity easy to appreciate firsthand.

At the lounge, you can enjoy coffee and light refreshments while taking in views of Haeundae Beach and Marine City through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The piano and bar enhanced the hotel’s distinctive sense of elegance. The bakery displayed pastries, cookies, cakes and gift items neatly, making it a nice stop before or after a walk.

Haeundae Beach and Cruise Boats in Front of the Hotel

Here are a few nearby attractions to explore while enjoying your staycation. When you step out of the hotel, Haeundae Beach is right there. Beyond the wide sandy beach, LCT and the city skyline came together to create a distinctly Busan scene. During the summer, parasols are set up and beach rental shops operate along the shore. The nearby Songnim Park and coastal red clay path are also pleasant places to rest in the shade.

Walking east along the beach toward Mipo, you’ll come across the sightseeing cruise dock. From the boat, you can take in the coastline and high-rise buildings at a glance from a perspective unavailable on land, making it a memorable Haeundae travel experience.

BUSAN X the Sky: Looking Down from the 100th Floor of LCT

Inside LCT at the end of Haeundae Beach, you will find BUSAN X the Sky. On days when low clouds settle in, the upper floors disappear into the mist, creating a striking view. The observatory offers sweeping views of Haeundae Beach, Dongbaekseom Island, Gwangandaegyo Bridge, and Dalmajigogae Pass, making it the perfect place to take in both Busan’s coastline and cityscape at once.

A Train Ride Above the Sea at Haeundae Blueline Park

At Mipo Station, you can watch the Beach Train and Sky Capsule move side by side. The boarding area was busy with visitors from Korea and abroad, and the slow-moving train along the sea made the ride itself feel like part of the trip.

A flea market was also open in front of the station, providing a fun opportunity to browse accessories, little trinkets and lifestyle items. At nearby Cloud Mipo, a cultural complex, you can have a nice meal or enjoy a cup of coffee, which makes it worth visiting before or after riding the Blue Line Park train.

Dalmaji-gil, Where the Forest and Sea Meet

Dalmaji-gil is a coastal hillside path that runs from Mipo toward Cheongsapo. The walking deck and old trees created shade, and along the way I could see the Sky Capsule and the sea together. The area around the Dalmaji Black Pine Grove felt quiet despite being close to the city. With cafes and restaurants scattered throughout the area, it is a lovely place to enjoy both a walk and a rest.

The Heart of Haeundae, Where Your Stay Connects to Sightseeing

The Westin Josun Busan is more than a place to enjoy ocean views from your room. It naturally connects you to beach walks, observatory visits, beach train rides and strolls along Dalmaji-gil. After relaxing at the outdoor pool, which features separate lanes for adults and water play, the fitness center, sauna and steam room, or the ocean-view lounge, you can step outside and find Busan’s major attractions close by. I recommend it not only for international visitors coming to Haeundae for the first time, but also for anyone looking for a special getaway in Busan.
